Meet the Drawer Dude: 15 Years Building Custom Drawers in Palm Beach County
Hi, I’m Connor.
I’m the Drawer Dude. That’s been the name on the truck for the last 15 years, and at this point it’s also what my neighbors and most of my customers call me. I build custom roll-out drawers and pull-out shelves for Palm Beach County homeowners. I do that out of a workshop in Palm Beach County, and I do it one job at a time.
If you’ve called me, you’ve already figured out that I answer my own phone. There’s no front desk, no scheduler, no sales rep. It’s just me. That’s by design.
Why I started The Drawer Dude
I’d been working in residential cabinetry for almost a decade when I realized that the homeowners I liked working with most were the ones who didn’t want a remodel. They had a kitchen they liked. They just wanted the inside of the cabinets to work better. They were tired of unloading the front of the cabinet to find the pot at the back.
That was a problem I could solve in a day, with materials I could buy locally and skills I already had. I didn’t need a factory. I didn’t need a sales team. So I started The Drawer Dude with one truck, a shop, and a phone number.
15 years later, the operation looks almost exactly the same. One truck. One shop. One phone number.
What I do, every day
I build custom roll-out drawers for kitchens, pantries, bathrooms, and laundry rooms. Every drawer is built to the inside dimensions of your specific cabinet. I don’t buy pre-built sizes and shim the gaps. I measure your cabinet, build a drawer that fits it, and install it myself.
The materials are simple and the materials are honest. Baltic birch plywood for the sides, plywood for the bottoms, Blum or Salice glides rated for 100 pounds, water-based clear sealer. Same materials a national franchise uses. The difference is in who built it and who’s putting it in your kitchen.
How I work with homeowners
Here is the process in plain English:
Free consultation
I come to your house, measure your cabinets, look at what you actually keep in them, and write you a quote on the spot. About 45 minutes. No charge, no pressure.
Quote
You take the quote home and think on it. There’s no follow-up call from a sales team. If you want to move forward, call or text me back. If not, no hard feelings.
Deposit
Once you say yes, I take a deposit and put your build on the calendar. Typical lead time is 2 to 4 weeks.
Build
I build everything in my shop. You don’t have to do anything during this stretch except keep cooking dinner like normal.
Install
One full day on site, usually 8 AM to 4 PM. Drop cloths down, install the drawers, clean up, walk you through how they work, hand you the warranty card.
Follow-up
I text you the next day to make sure everything is sliding right.
That’s the whole process. Five steps. No drama.
What I won’t do
In 15 years I’ve turned down work for the same handful of reasons. It’s worth saying out loud:
- I won’t push you into a bigger project than you came to me for. If you called about three pull-out drawers, you get a quote for three pull-out drawers. Not a kitchen remodel.
- I won’t send a salesperson. The person who measures your cabinets is the person who builds the drawers and installs them. That’s me.
- I won’t subcontract the install. If your job is on my calendar, I’m the one in your kitchen.
- I won’t quote a low number and surprise you with a change order. The price I write down is the price you pay.
That’s the floor. Anything above the floor is what we work out when we meet.
The 15-year track record
More than 2,000 homes in Palm Beach County. Over 30% of my work in any given month is a repeat customer adding more drawers to a kitchen I worked on years ago, or a referral from someone whose kitchen I worked on. Word of mouth has carried this business since year one.
I keep a record of every job. If you call me five years from now because a glide is sticking, I can pull up which drawer it is and what the warranty looks like. That’s not corporate-speak, it’s just one guy with good notes.
My service area
All of Palm Beach County. North to south, east to west. Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Tequesta, Royal Palm Beach, Greenacres, North Palm Beach, Juno Beach, and the smaller communities in between. I’ve worked in single-family homes, condos with strict HOAs, and gated communities that need a COI on file. I’ve got the insurance ready.

Are you actually the person who shows up?
Yes. Every time. If for some reason I can’t make a scheduled appointment, I’ll call you myself to reschedule. I don’t send anyone in my place.
Do you do consultations on weekends?
Saturdays, yes, by appointment. Sundays I’m with my family.
What’s the best way to get a quote?

Do you do any work outside of Palm Beach County?
Rarely. If your project is right on the county line, give me a call and we’ll talk.

One year on the install. Lifetime on the hardware, because Blum and Salice both back their own glides.
Can I see examples of your past work?
Yes. The gallery has photos and the reviews page has customer feedback. Most of my customers will let me take a photo of the install at the end of the day if you want a more recent example.
